UN: The Sustainable Development Goals are 5 years old!

The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs or Agenda 2030) were adopted in September 2015 by 193 countries at the United Nations, following the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

They constitute an action plan for peace, humanity, the planet and prosperity, requiring the implementation of multi-actor partnerships. They aim to transform our societies by eradicating poverty and ensuring a just transition to sustainable development by 2030.

Universal, inclusive and interconnected, these objectives call for action by all and establish a universal common language. The SDGs constitute a reference framework for action, an awareness-raising tool, a source of economic opportunities and a lever for multi-stakeholder collaboration.

These 17 objectives are accompanied by 169 interlinked targets, aimed at all types of actors and specifying their content. It is essential to read them in order to identify the most relevant SDGs for your organization.

Businesses and SDGs

Companies have a key role to play in the success of this 2030 Agenda, facilitated by their active participation in the Global Compact. Achieving the SDGs will improve the business environment, providing them with a more stable environment in which to prosper and grow. Both from the point of view of development opportunities and risk management, it is therefore in the strategic interest of companies to contribute to them today.

On September 25, 2020, the Sustainable Development Goals will celebrate their fifth anniversary.

Agenda 2030 was the first UN agenda to seek and encourage the participation and involvement of the private sector. There are now 10 years left to implement this agenda and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

This is why we are invited to mobilize and celebrate this anniversary with ALL!

Why should we celebrate it?

- Join a global mobilization in favor of the Sustainable Development Goals

- Demonstrate our commitment and promote the work provided by our teams and our stakeholders to achieve the 2030 Agenda

- Create an emulation around the Sustainable Development Goals

For the occasion, a communication kit has been created and downloadable resources are made available on the site that we can use:
