Advancing the Integrity Reform Agendas in the Eastern Partnership: High-level Launch of the EU for Integrity Programme
29 avril à 12 h 00 min - 13 h 30 min
Registration is now open for the High-Level Launch of the EU for Integrity Programme for the Eastern Partnership (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine) jointly implemented by OECD Anti-Corruption Network for Eastern Europe and Central Asia and Open Government Partnership (OGP). High-level representatives from the EU, the OECD and OGP will discuss how to effectively advance necessary reforms in the Eastern Partnership countries.
The rule of law, a fair justice system, open civic space and good governance are essential for a fair and sustainable socio-economic recovery from the COVID-19. Open reforms in these areas are necessary to achieve positive developments for our partner countries’ citizens and the economies they live in. The EU, joining forces with the OECD-ACN and OGP, will focus on integrity, the fight against corruption, open government and civic engagement.
The EU for Integrity Programme will be the key tool in this endeavour, providing for a set of anti-corruption performance indicators and mainstream effectively CSOs participation to ensure open government reforms, for which we expect full engagement from the relevant services of the EaP countries. EU Commissioner Olivér Várhelyi, OECD Secretary General Ángel Gurría, OGP Chief Executive Officer Sanjay Pradhan and European Commission’s DG NEAR Deputy Director-General Katarina Mathernova, will be joined by high-level official from the national authorities and Civil society leader from the EaP to discuss and commit to these reforms.
