The Chainalysis Risk and Regulation Training course equips participants to identify how a risk based approach can be applied to cryptocurrencies. Drawing on traditional AML risk assessment frameworks, the training considers how both off-chain and onchain information can contribute to effective AML/compliance policies. The course is aimed at those with responsibility for oversight, monitoring and/or reporting on cryptocurrency activity or businesses, who are looking to further their understanding of how financial crime risks can be managed and regulatory requirements met. The course engages learners using a mix of practical exercises, group discussion and case studies developed by Chainalysis experts.
The training is provided through virtual classroom settings over 2 half days.
Chainalysis Risk and Regulation Training Learning Objectives:
- Describe the features of cryptocurrency that lead to potential risks and how they can be managed. Identify and assess off-chain/on-chain risk factors relevant to VASPs.
- Recognize red flags in a mock cryptocurrency exchange to build context and make informed decisions.
- Understand reporting requirements in relation to suspicious activity reporting.
- Identify key developments in international regulatory environment.
- Evaluate compliance decisions and draw conclusions using a risk based approach.
